Our Mission
Chicory seeks to reconnect broken chains of generational knowledge about the natural world and the species with whom we share our daily lives. Engaging with nature as a subject of inexhaustible, lifelong learning has benefits ranging from enhancing mental and physical health to becoming a more informed cohabitant of the planet. When we are able to distinguish danger from delight, we can fully enjoy and engage with our ecosystem and are more driven to care for it as our home.

About Us
Chicory Naturalist is a nature-focused book and gift shop nestled in a cozy crook between the Rondout Creek and the Hudson River in Kingston, NY. Our goal with our inventory is to be able to matchmake anyone who walks in the doors with something that speaks to their natural interests, curiosities and delights. We host an array of free community events, readings, and workshops throughout the year.
